Suspension
Your car’s suspension system is responsible for providing steering stability and good handling so that you can go exactly where you need to. It provides comfort for you and your passengers, smoothing out your ride and keeping your car controlled. The suspension system is made up of several parts, including springs, shock absorbers, struts and more. It essentially connects a vehicle to its wheels and allows you to get on the road. Components of your suspension system can wear down over time, resulting in damage to your vehicle. To prevent large repairs, have your suspension system inspected and maintained on a yearly basis. These are a few signs that your suspension may need to be repaired:
- You begin to feel every bump in the road
- Your car drifts or pulls during turns
- Your car noticeably lurches forward and downward in a “nose dive” when you firmly brake
- Your tires are wearing down unevenly
- Damaged shocks are leaking fluid
- Your car bounces several times after going over a bump
